“From the age of 39, the quantity and quality of tears produced by the body decrease*. Plus, hormonal changes in females caused by pregnancy, oral contraceptives and menopause can also lead to symptoms.

“At the age of 45, you're more than likely going through perimenopause, and one of the unknown symptoms, Dry Eye Disease, can be an issue during this stage of your life.

“Oestrogen typically supports healthy tear fluid production and a healthy tear film so as levels decline, the glands producing and secreting the tear fluid may function less effectively leading to faster tear fluid evaporation and dry, irritated and gritty eyes. Dry, irritated and gritty, eyes can be very uncomfortable, especially when wearing makeup.

“I would recommend using the new product range, which has been created to help relieve these physical effects associated with perimenopause. M-Club Dry Eye Drops have been designed to soothe irritated eyes. They contain 0.3% sodium hyaluronate, which research has found can help to improve eye damage associated with Dry Eye Disease**

M-Club For The Menopause is a new health and wellness range created by the team behind The Body Doctor, designed to support women through perimenopause and menopause. The complete range is available at Boots.
