- Please give us an overview of your business and what makes you different?
Elizabeth Weddings provides bespoke venue styling, design and décor hire services. This includes a full design and styling package; from design plan, consultations, prop hire, styling, set up & set down. Some of these elements of the styling package can be selected individually. I also offer additional services such as bespoke table runners and handmade stationery.

I offer a completely bespoke service for which I tailor each and every design and styling package to suit the theme (and budget) of each couple. I love to create unique finishing touches, such as handmade stationery and any other handcrafted elements, which can easily be cohesive to fit with the styling and theming.

What's your background and why did you launch your business?
I have always wanted to become a creative but not sure which route I would have ended up. I graduated with a Textile Design degree from Loughborough University, straight after I worked as a freelance fashion designer, I successfully sold fashion swatches in New York, Paris, Italy & Japan, including to famous designers such as Vera Wang. I built my portfolio up through working in London for home design and fashion design departments. I decided I quite like the idea of working in the world of interiors....

Before I launched Elizabeth Weddings I worked as a wedding stylist assistant for a venue as a placement for a couple of years. I really enjoyed the styling work and the creativity that came with it and setting up my own business gave me the freedom of putting my own stamp on weddings and allowed me to work on the styles I really love in all different types of venues, this is why I started Elizabeth Weddings.

What's your favourite type of wedding to work on?
I love weddings with lots and lots of candles combined with foliage! I just love how simple elements can still create something wow! Obviously we love how different every wedding is to style but our favourites are ones with hanging installations or anything that has a gold colour scheme in.

What's your top tip for couples planning a wedding?
This might be an obvious tip but don't forget about the styling or the finishing touches, whether it's booked through me or if you have collected your own items and you need a few extras tips. I will always suggest ideas on areas of the venue that might need decorating. This can be budget-friendly or as much as you need. These small touches never go unnoticed.

What's the most common question couples ask you?
Generally speaking couples ask me 'Why do we need a venue stylist?'. For me, having a wedding venue stylist helps in many ways but mainly on the big day itself you can spend more time relaxing and not worrying about the décor, in the knowledge that somebody professional is taking care of the set-up.

During the design planning we can give you advice about what works well, we can help you visualise the final design and also give you tips on extra-special finishing touches! If you have your own ideas, no problem, I would be happy to work to your brief and recommend tips if you need them.

Expert says prenups aren't just for the rich and famous

Legal experts at Richard Nelson LLP are urging Brits to rethink who prenups are really for. While often seen as something reserved for high-profile couples, data suggests they remain largely overlooked in everyday relationships. Just 7 percent of divorced Brits had a prenuptial agreement in place before separating, highlighting a significant gap between perception and reality. Regionally, attitudes vary. Manchester has emerged as the UK's 'prenup capital', with 13 percent of divorced couples having one in place, compared to 8 percent in London and 11 percent in Birmingham. Meanwhile, cities including Liverpool and Southampton reported no uptake among those surveyed.
