For a one-of-a-kind, memorable celebration, the SS Great Britain is one to consider. Designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel and launched in 1843, the beautifully restored ship lies in the heart of Bristol’s harbourside, and offers spectacular views. Steeped in history, with versatile spaces both above and below deck, the ship is available for you and your loved ones to enjoy exclusively on your big day.

THE “I DOS”
At almost 30 metres in length with mirrors and elegant wooden flooring, the Promenade Deck makes for an impressive aisle. Imagine exchanging your vows beneath the circular skylight, surrounded by 100 of your nearest and dearest, as natural light floods in creating a romantic ambience.

RAISE A GLASS
Following the ceremony, you can all enjoy a drinks reception on the Weather or Promenade Decks. The former boasts one of the region’s most striking waterside vistas, surrounded by hills, with views of Brandon Hill and Cabot Tower. The deck provides a wonderful space for drinks, canapés and musicians. It can play host to 160 loved ones.

DINE IN STYLE
Enjoy delicious food and fine wines in the luxurious First Class Dining Saloon, once admired by a young Queen Victoria. Here, you’ll be enchanted by the best in early Victorian design, with marble-style pillars, Rococo mirrors and candle lanterns. But don’t be fooled, the space cleverly hides all the mod-cons you could wish for including flexible air-cooling and a PA system for speeches. The Saloon can host 160 loved ones for the wedding breakfast.

The chief catering steward will strive to ensure every dining request is met. Delicious food is freshly cooked on board by people passionate about quality produce and dining.

DANCE THE NIGHT AWAY
Below deck is the Hayward Saloon, a versatile space with a dancefloor and bar area. After the wedding breakfast guests can stay seated, explore the ship and enjoy a talk or guided tour, or continue the party in the Hayward Saloon. Plus, you can choose to decorate this space however you wish.

The Wedding Music Trends Couples Are Choosing for 2026

For couples planning 2026 weddings, music has moved beyond background noise - it's now a defining, intentional part of the overall experience. Beyond the first dance or the late-night party set, couples are curating soundtracks that reflect who they are, where they come from, and how they want their guests to feel. The result? A new era of wedding music that's immersive, personal, culturally rich, and joy-led. Few people have seen this evolution up close quite like DJ China L'One, founder of We Run the World, the UK's leading Black-owned, all-female DJ agency.
